Asia
Breed: Mastiff
Age: tbc
Cat friendly: Not tested
Dog friendly: Yes
Child friendly: Yes
Fostered: Hengoed, Mid Glamorgan

Asia is very much the gentle giantess. She came to me on Saturday, and is settling well in her new foster home.

As she has only been with me for 4 days, so I am unable to give a full assessment of her, but so far she has been a darling. She is semi-housetrained, has learnt how to sit and comes from the garden when called. She is also learning to walk nicely on a lead. She seems to have had a little training previously, although sometimes she looks at you as if to say, "I'm supposed to know that, but I don't remember". She sleeps happily and quietly downstairs overnight.

She is very friendly around people and loves children, and so far has proved fantastic with my two boys who are 14 and 12 she is very gentle around them, we actually sat and watched a game of football this afternoon and even when they came near to us, she displayed no nervousness or agitation with the extra activity.

She is very playful with my staffordshire bull terrier Chav, although they could turn a room into rubble if they were allowed to get out of hand. On first impressions, she seems more comfortable around women and children than she does around men, however this does not mean she's not affectionate with them once she gains trust in them. She is still quite happy to fall asleep with her head on my other halfs lap.

She shares my home with Chav and is dominant with him, but anyone who has met Chav will tell you, he's as submissive as they come.

She is not food possessive with us, but occasionally forgets what the drop command means and can get a little narky with toys, although we are working on that with her. She also has a slight issue with affection seeking, and has tried to 'bully' Chav out of the way, which I strongly believe can be sorted out with time. Everyone who has met her has fallen in love with this big beautiful girl.

If you would like to offer Asia a home please take a moment to read our adoption procedures before you download our adoption form. Once completed please e-mail it to [email protected]. If you have problems downloading the form, please just email us. Adoptions will be subject to a satisfactory homecheck and a minimum donation.
