We still can't believe this has happened and are so shocked to be honest.
On Sunday, G let Ben out first thing into the garden while he made a cup of tea which is just the usual routine. Then when he went to call Ben back in he found him hanging from a shrub branch in our garden by his collar. We think he must have leapt up for a bird and caught himself on his way back down.
By the time G got there he had gone from struggling to passing out and we could of so easily lost him which just doesn't bear thinking about.
So the good news is that the vet can't believe his recovery in the circumstances. He really is fine now but I'm not quite so sure that G and I are! It was an awful experience that we could never anticipate but goes to show how accidents happen and that it was just so lucky that G got to him in time.
Hope all is well with everyone at Four paws!

Been there with Maggie May and Pip, Maggie caught her lower jaw in Pip's collar. The collar tightened and her tongue was going blue, very very frightening. So pleased Ben is ok. Hugs to you all xx

Never been in that sort of situation but very pleased all is well with Ben now :-*

What an awful thing to happen, thank goodness he is ok now.

Awwww bless, I'm so glad all is well. I panic if Poppy sneezes lol so I don't know how bad I would have been if it happened to her xx

:( Just been to the vets with Ruby as she seemed to be struggling again with stairs/steps, we thought it was her eyes but when we saw her eye specialist on Tuesday for a check-up he said everything was fine, it turns out she has a Luxating Patella in one of her back legs & possibly the other too but by then she was very distressed & was getting really nasty :'(, we're putting her on Metacam for now & then maybe x-rays etc, poor girl has really been through it lately.
Sorry to hijack this thread, I meant to put it in General Chat.x

Maggie, my nephew's jack russell had a luxating patella & had to have it operated on. After weeks of re-hab he is running around like a lunatic again. Big hugs for you & Ruby xx

Dizzy's in recovery for his luxating patella op now - Jan at Summerwood recommended us to a fab referral vet in Swansea who have been absolutely amazing. Still 8 weeks of recovery to go, but Dizzy's like a new dog & doesn't believe he's still in recovery at all! Hope Metacam helps Ruby but if she does have to have the op, it's definitely harder on us people than it is on the dog!

Thank you all for your kind thoughts - we are pleased to say that Ben really is fine now and is doing a 13 mile charity walk with G tomorrow. we were concerned earlier in the week that he might not be up to it but he has bounced back to his usual self and clearly hasn't been affected by his ordeal. He is a little tough cookie thank goodness!
Sorry to hear Maggie May and Pip had a similar ordeal Munchkins. That must have been awful for you too. It's just so bizarre how these things can happen when you do everything possible to keep them safe. Glad you had a happy ending too!
Maggie no need to apologise and wishing you all the best for a positive outcome for Ruby x
