Toby spent the weekend with me after he was neutered on Friday, he bounced out of the vets as if nothing had been done and demanded his tea ;D.
He is a delightful little chap, he got on well with my 3 dogs and 2 cats and slept quietly through the night, other than a 2 minute whinge when I first left him.
Toby had a lovely day at the Dogs Trust Show on Sunday, he loved all the attention he received (and it was a lot :)). He is such a happy little chap, he could do with loosing a few pounds, but other than that, he is pretty perfect!
His fosterer will update further as she gets to know him ;D

I met Toby yesterday and he was a star at dog trust nothing fazed him as it was very busy and everyone wanted a pat. He took it all in his stride a gorgeous boy

Had my first full day fostering Toby yesterday Everyone who meets him falls in love with him : )
He has a gorgeous personality.. so cuddly and keen to please. Food orientated. Gettiing on well with Daisy Dalmatian and the cat. Ignored the rabbit and chickens, but interested in farmyard rodents.
Travels well.
Loves his walks and spends the rest of his available time sitting on a lap or lying in my arms having his tummy stroked!
-
I knew Toby has a huge personality! Great big hound in a little body... I love the line about "interested in farmyard rodents" :)
-
Toby,s favourite thing in life is...( besides food) ....being cuddled and stroked, sitting on a lap or falling asleep in his owners arms, upturned, whilst having his tummy rubbed. He is so affectionate. He is irresistible : )
-
I'm going to pop Toby on Reserve. He's had a lot of interest so please bear with us while we work through the applications and we will get in touch with everyone as soon as possible.
Cheryl, I've PM'd you :)
-
Yes, i,m not surprised he,s got a lot of interest. Have tried to get my boyfriend to adopt him aswel, he,s so lovely !
-
I know someone who has fingers crossed on this lovely fella! :D
-
Me, my hubby, my boys and Rio the rocket (another darling daxi) have fingers and paws crossed that we can make a forever home for Toby. He is absolutely gorgeous and sounds a perfect fit for us. Funny that only a couple of weeks back we agreed as a family the time was right to find a friend for Rio. We're all desperate to meet him but know you rightly have strict vetting procedures and no doubt heaps of interest in this beautiful boy. Hope you've had my adoption form & info through. We'll try and leave you in peace to go through the applications - just can't help popping back to see the photos! Love all the positive comments here - confirming what we'd hoped.

*waves at Karen*

Toby thanks u all for your interest! He is so keen to have a permanent lap to cuddle on.
By the way he,s not at all boisterous, and will benefit from some training. Being so food orientated he,s quite quick to pick things up.
-
He is absolutely GORJUSS! somebodies going to be very lucky to be his Mam - wish it could be me- and Alvie would LURVE a lickle bro -but Mr G he say NO :'(
God bless Toby- be happy on your forever sofa :-*
-
yes, lydia G, Mr Neil here told me and the family 'no' aswel, otherwise i would have loved to keep him. If cloning was available....
WALKS- so healthy and good for dogs
Toby gets very excited when his lead comes out, but then he seems not to like to go very far. I've seen him learning things day to day, and think he is not used to walking, but will enjoy when he finds out what fun it is. He has some very long nails and i think is out of condition for walks...he will need to build up his stamina. He's surprisingly agile at getting upstairs or onto the sofa, but then only makes a half hearted effort if he thinks a human would lift him up ; D
-
by meeting other dash hound owners this weekend, i have learnt a couple of things.
He is obviously overweight, but is infact a medium dash hound, not the 'miniture' i thought.
- dash hounds are allowed to go upstairs and onto the sofa, but should be helped down, to protect their backs
; )

Toiletting: went outside of own accord for numbers 1 and 2 first thing, but then widdle near door later.
Walks: was walking/picnic on grass for a couple of hours yesterday.
-
TT: he's been going outside for everything since writing the above....that's over 24hr. I think he's sussed it!
-
Well done Toby - what a clever boy! Xx
-
;D Good boy Toby, I hope you got an extra treat for being so clever :-*
-
TT: Toby's into his 4th day without any accidents indoors. Superdog. Met a lady with her sausage dog yesterday, who voluteered that they are difficult to train....for the toilet! but hers was ok after they took in a female doggy companion.
walks: good and bad. His back legs are noticiably more muscular and he is standing better. Is pottering about around the front garden and around to next door. However, he seems to have sore back paws after we walked half way to the post box today. So, i should only have increased his range on concrete by 2 mins per day.
-
Ah bless him - hope his back paws recover quickly
-
:-* Clever boy Toby, I hope your poorly paws are better soon :-*
-
HAPPY GOTCHA DAY! :)
Toby\s new family are coming to adopt him today. Hence, they can say, ' I 'gotcha' on the 6 july...like a birthday. A new life of love, exercise and fun starting today.
He is going to a family who already own the fittest dash hound their vet has ever seen. Where the kids are so red hot keen on their dog that they watch dog training programs of their own accord and have a plan to accommodate Toby and Rio's differences in fitness. A family where everyone has a lap to sit on for cuddles and a stay home Mom for constant attention. Couldn't happen to a nicer dog or a nicer family. XXXXXX
-
