Title: Feeling Stressed
Post by: gje2015 on February 27, 2015, 10:13:53 AM
Hi all,
Candy has gone to the vet this morning to be neutered.  I forgot how stressed I get as its like one of your children going into hospital.  My husband laughed at me but I will be on edge now until lunchtime.  Is anyone else the same as me lol......

Oh yes you're in good company here, I make sure they've got my mobile number just in case I need to go out, not much gets done as I'm too unsettled whether it's one of my own or a foster, hugs for you as I know you'll be on pins until Candy comes home.xxxxxx

I've also got my boy in the vet for an op (ears) today so I understand exactly how you're feeling.    I wish they would phone and say he's out of the anaesthetic.

I'm sure they will both be fine with lots of treats when they get home and within 24 hours will be feeling good as new.

Pleased to say Candy is back home  safe and sound and sleeping on the sofa. She even had a scale and polish.  I can relax now. Xx

That's good news, it's always such a relief.  Dex is still in the vets but just sleeping off the anaesthetic, I'm picking him up in about half an hour.  Be glad to get him home and snuggled up on the sofa.

I hate them going in for a GA, when we got Betsy her teeth were so bad we got her an appointment for a dental, 6 hours later we had no word, turns out she had serious complications, but it was sorted. It was the longest 6 hours of my life!!!!

Dex is home, he doesn't do so well with anaesthetics and he's out for the count under a duvet bless him  :(   I hate that kind of away with the fairies thing that happens to them, it's as if he's looking at me but not really seeing.   I'm sure he'll be much brighter in the morning.   Hope Candy is doing OK.

It is strange how they all react differently to it.  The worst I had was a lab and a rottie.

I'm glad Dex is home as he's more relaxed at home, let's hope he'll be brighter tomorrow.
I'm lucky that I've never had any problems with them coming out of the anaesthetic :)

It is funny how they're all so different, also both my labbies seem to struggle more to shake it off as they get older.   He hasn't lost his appetite though!

I was worried about little Sasha being so small and having a big op. I didn't need to worry, from the moment I picked her up she's been as if she's had nothing done at all! No sleepiness nothing, offered the blame chicken and rice, she ate the the chicken, went over to her food bowl and ate her dog food. It's been hard work trying to get her to stop playing! Lol my 2 were as if they were dying when they got home. Xx

I remember years ago the vet rang me at 2 o'clock to pick my foster up as he was barking & bouncing off the walls :o

Well Candy hasn't lost her appetite but she woke me at 3.45am whimpering.  I then cwtched up on the sofa with her and she seemed to settle.  She's not moving far from me today and follows me everywhere.
