Ella has been with us just over a week now and what a difference in this little cute girl. When we first pick her up she wouldnt come near us, she tried to get as far away from us as possible. Once we manage to put a collar and lead on her she was even more scared I had to carry her out, I could feel her little body go very stiff Ella is not use to being handle. Unfortunately she was so frightened she poo over me and in the camper.

Once we got home she had to have a bath. She didn't like the bath and tried to get out every second she was in there. I manage to cut some fur that was matted and over grown around her eyes. She wasn't impressed when I towel dried her either.

Still wet from her bath

Ella has been use to living outside so it's been a big step for her learning to live in a house with us humans and a new toileting routine. From the first day she arrived here she has loads of confidence around our dogs Nelly and Louie, she also very good with our cat Chilli, he came out to say hello and she washed his face, Ella will sit there while Chilli rub his body up against her and flick his tail around her head. She loves to follow Nelly and Louie around, which as been good because they have help with her with toileting. This has improved so much with just a little accident now and again and always by the back door.

Ella has a good appetite she has learnt where her food bowls go, will wait for me to put it down when I walk away she will then go and eat it. When she finished she will do what my two do go around all the bowl just to see if they left anything, with so such luck. Sunday was the first day she took a treat from my hand. She has got braver over the week, she will come over and sniff my hand when I put it down and call her. She not interested in getting up on the sofa so I haven't had any cutches yet, with time and patience this will change.

Ella is still in training with her lead when walking, sometimes she will trot off in front of me but when she don't want to move she won't.  I do pick her up because I can't be seen draging a little fluffy ball across the grass lol.

I took Ella and Louie to visit my friend Diane. She was very well behaved, she found Maggie and Pip's biscuit bowl and kept popping out the room grabbing a biscuit then running back in to a doggie bed to eat it. Diane has a few pussy cats she took no notice apart from one little one that was cutch up on her bed, Ella tail was wagging so fast she must have really like her.

At night we take Ella up to the bedroom to sleep. I do pick her up and put her on the bottom of the bed. She will stay there all night. Every night I do give her a fuss, every night gets better. Her body doesn't go stiff anymore and she is starting to enjoy a ear rub.

It was a pleasure to meet Ella.....she is a very sweet and well behaved little girl :) although timid of me she was not scared.....she was happy to sniff my hand but not confident enough to take a treat from me....she was more than happy to choose her own biscuits from the bowl.....she was very confident around Maggie and Pip and was intrigued by the cats her little head bobbing from side to side and following them around.....someone is going to be very lucky to have this little lady in their life  :luv:

When I had missy my ex breeding shih tzu she was the same as Ella, I found a crate helped her no end as she was so used to being in an enclosed area, the size of a sitting room or a house can be so terrifying for her. Missy never had a collar on, or a lead, she didnt know how to play, how to walk on a lead, what a car was, loud noises. Everything was terrifying for her. Try a crate put it against a wall close to you with a blanket over some of it so that she doesnt feel scared about the space around her. I left the door open so that Missy could come out and see us when she wanted to, only touching her when I needed to take her outside to the loo. Ella will come round with lots of patience and hard work and she will prove to be the most wonderful companion for some lucky lucky person. She is beautiful and soon the horrible memories will be replaced by the love and caring you will give her and she will become a princess.

I've fostered quite a few ex breeders over the years & they've amazed me by how quickly the trust comes in, some take longer than others depending I suppose on who the breeder was, having the Yorkies (who have been brilliant with fosters  angel.gif) to show them the ropes & the foster has seen how "chilled" they are has helped loads, time & tlc is all Ella needs is for her confidence to grow & blossom. :-*

Ella has had another good week. She has started to relax a little more around the house, is sleeping where she wants an, goes down to the kitchen for drink on her own. When I am working around the house she will follow me having a nose.

(http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/ah35/dawn_hanna1/Ella/DSC_0661_zpsvafaqke8.jpg) (http://s1376.photobucket.com/user/dawn_hanna1/media/Ella/DSC_0661_zpsvafaqke8.jpg.html)

We have started to hear her voice, she has a funny little bark. When we get up in the morning she gets all excited and bounces around like a puppy. Runs straight down stairs and out the back door with the my two dogs for morning busniness. Any toys or slipplers left on the floor she will pick up and carry to the doogie bed, one of her favorites things is a pair of old socks tied up.

Ella has a couple of issues, she still doesn't like being handled but will come over to sniff my hand and occasionally she will let me give her a little head rub then off she goes. When we go up to bed she wants to get up on the bed at night with our two but she has such little legs she can't jump. I talk to her gently and pick her up, otherwise she will try to get away. Once she is on the bed she is happy and will lie down and enjoy a fuss. This is the best way I have found to give Ella a fuss and check her fur for knots. I have to watch her all the time she is in the garden she will eat poo. I try not to shout but use a few firm no's and she is learning to walk away. She suffers from an upset tum, we have tablets from the vet and she is fed dried Burns biscuits for meals.

Ella will benefit from living with a resident confident dog. She loves to be with Nelly and Louie , following them everywhere. She is getting better on the lead and love's to go for a walk once we are out of the house. We still do a lot of stop and start but Nelly and Louie will come back and encourage her to walk with them. I have not let her of lead because it will be hard to put her back on.

Ella would love a forever home that is quiet with a doggie pal, she also like cats. She is a beautiful girl and I love to watch her, she looks at me smiles tilts her head from side to side and rolls around on the floor paws in the air like she don't care......

Ella's problems come from her previous life, she is a classic example of why people should not buy puppies from breeders.
