Lovely Pumba has come into Four Paws through no fault of his own from a loving family. He can now enjoy a stay at Kempy Towers!

(http://i835.photobucket.com/albums/zz276/jellitot17/IMG_20160715_134228_zpsxc0r9ffs.jpg) (http://s835.photobucket.com/user/jellitot17/media/IMG_20160715_134228_zpsxc0r9ffs.jpg.html)

What can I say this boy is a total dream boat! When we first met he was initially very hesitant with myself and Eli but as soon as he saw the open car door he was in and very excited to be sprung out! He spent the whole journey back to the Kempy Towers looking out of the window. He met Lexie and Jasper in the back garden and they all go on so well together. Jasper was so excited to greet a Pommy brother, true to form though after the initial happy greetings Lexie and Jasper became ice king and queen, but Pumba didn't care though he did pace and pant a lot as he came to terms with his new surroundings. After a couple of hours I said walkies and Pumba couldn't contain his excitement. We got into the car and went to Hailey park where we met up with Penny and the hoolies and we all had a lovely walk together. Pumba just became part of it, I did let him have a short amount of time off the extendable lead, but put it back on luckily in the nick of time as he noticed wild life in the field and was quite keen to chase after it into the undergrowth!
We spent the evening at home and Pumba joined Lexie and Jasper for snuggles with me before they all went to their beds on the landing. Lowri came home in the early hours and was greeted by a very happy wiggly Pumba who gave her lovely kisses while she took her shoes off.

16/07/2016

I woke at around 6.20am to a scratch on my door followed after 5 minutes by another scratch when I opened the door the fluffy twins were there Jasper in front and Pumba behind him, both followed me downstairs and into the garden. Pumba hadn't had any accidents overnight. We all went back to bed for a cup pf tea and Saturday treat. Pumba was confused by the treat, but eventually decided to try it, I think he enjoyed it because he ate it all!
He then  had to go to the vets for his first vax he was such a good boy in the vet he greeted every dog really well, except for a boxer cross who was a bit rude and then Pumba told him off. The vet loved him, and he ate four of her treats....... Ive never seen one of my foster dogs accept those treats so he's either incredibly polite or he has strange taste!!

Pumba doesn't appear to be treat orientated in fact they seem to confuse him. My Mum came over today with her usual sausage treats for the dogs and Pumba took them very politely then walked away dropped them on the floor and just looked at them, he allowed Lexie and Jasper to eat them without any fuss.

Later we went for a walk at the canal. Pumba was very interested in the ducks he tried every way he could to get near them. He watched the little moorhens walking across the lily pads and you could see his brain ticking over I'm sure he was thinking " I could go on the lily pads and get to the ducks I'm only little!" He did wade up to his belly but luckily gave up he had to really I had him on a lead!. I did let him off on the paths away from the canal where he dived into the undergrowth, Lexie and Jasper stood watching the undergrowth move as Pumba went through it, Jaspers greeting when he came out was amazing, it was hero worship, almost as if he was saying "mate that was totally brilliant" but even if he did think it was brilliant Jasper didn't later on venture into he undergrowth with him.

Pumba has settled in as if he's always been here. He loves the sofa, he's very fond of all the toys in the toy box and has been running around playing with them all day and he adores people.

Pumba is a very active boy. Don't let the fluffy good looks fool you this boy needs regular exercise and stimulation, please don't apply for him if you want a lap dog, he'll be happy to sit on your lap at times but he loves outdoors, walkies are really his favourite thing and he loves being able to go into my garden for a potter around.

I'll update  when I get to know him more

I have met Mr Pumba and confirm he is utterly GORGEOUS such a soft boy, he followed me around the house (I felt like the pied piper!) He loved sitting on my lap, and being cuddled.
When Dean came to pick me up the excitement levels went through the roof! The others were excited and he copied, he was all over Dean like a rash. Both Pommies wouldn't leave him until sufficient cuddles and snogs were applied!

Absolutely lovely boy, he deserves the absolute best, and would definately like a home to keep him on his toes and active!

Pumba has been in Kempy towers for just over a week now and has settled in really well. He's completely clean in the house sleeps quietly with Lexie and Jasper on the landing at night and has been left for around 4 hours on a number of occasions and seems to have just spent the time chilling!
Pumba  now eats the same food as Lexie and Jasper and his initial pickiness has disappeared  he eats wet and dry  and a variety of treats. He's now very fond of the liver cake I make and expects a little piece of the crust when I have toast in the morning!
He had a bit of a tidy up this week with my friend Chelle and he really enjoyed being pampered, he looks even more handsome now. Chelle says he was really well behaved and didn't make any fuss at all! After all that pampering Pumba has still wanted to explore everything. He goes off lead and his recall is very good, he loves diving into the bushes  and explores every hole made by the rabbits in the field. He bounces through long grass and loves a run around with willing dogs, in common with Jasper his play is accompanied by very loud barks and growls and he's got the biggest grin on his face whilst he's doing it!. Pumba loves his walks currently hes having between 1 and 2 hours a day off lead. He walks very well on lead, but really needs time to run off his energy. We did have an incident at the canal last week when Pumba tried to get closer to the ducks he slipped on the log and ended up in the canal! It was a hot day and I think he felt better after his unscheduled dip, but he hasn't attempted the same thing again as he did struggle to get out and I had to rescue him!
Jasper and Pumba have indulged in some Pomeranian play which consists of jumping and twirling and batting each other plus lots of chasing, they can carry on for ages but the fun police AKA Lexie does get fed up of being excluded so does stop the game when she's had enough. Pumba is a bit of a lap dog in the house, he does love to sit on the settee but its better if he can sit on me, he does get a bit upset if Lexie or Jasper are having a cuddle and will walk over them to make sure he's part of the cuddle, this morning he's used both Lexie and Jasper as pillows so clearly feels a part of the pack.
This boy needs an active home, he loves to have his people around and is more than happy to live with other dogs, he really is adorable and someone is going to be very lucky to have this little man as part of their family!

Title: Re: Mr Pumba Bear - Pommeranian
Post by: kempy12 on July 31, 2016, 15:41:54 PM
Pumba bear has now been at  Kempy Towers for a fortnight and to be honest its as though hes always been here, hes settled so well.
Hes a really adorable boy so happy  when hes with people he knows or out on a walk. When Pumba initially meets someone hes slightly hesitant and he wont allow anyne he meets on a walk to stroke him, apart that is for a little girl he met on a walk who stroked Lexie then Jasper and finally Pumba.
On off lead  walks he always sets the pace, he charges ahead exploring everything but keeping his people within hearing, if you change direction and call to him he chases back and then takes the lead again. He doesn't realise hes a handsome fluffy boy because after every walk he's covered in burrs bits of twig and grass seed, luckily he doesn't mind being  brushed to get the debris out of his fur. Pumba is fond of a paddle, well more of a wade really in the river and a quick shake and his fur falls back into place!!
Pumba now eats everything that hes given theres no hesitation, On Friday I gave the dogs a smart bone each before I went to work, I got home just after mid day to a tremendous greeting. Went upstairs and found a smart bone packet, empty and in pieces just a little along the hall was an empty packet of bicuit treats. All three dogs stopped their happy dancing when I said " whos done this" and Pumba melted into the wall and avoided looking at me. Between the three of them they had eated 10 small peanut butter smart bones and 6 carrot biscuit treats. In the kitchen I found the door to the  cupboard wide open and the foil tins of dog food carefully taken out and put on the floor, that's how they got to the treats!! I'm not sure which dog noticed the door wasn't shut properly but it was obviously a joint effort to liberate the treats! Pumba though is a clever boy and I think he definitely played a part!
We had a number of visitors on Friday, Stella popped in with things for the big cheese show, Pumba greeted her well and then later gave lots of fuss when Fran came over, I think hes a bit of a ladies man on the quiet!
Saturday is Nanna day and Pumba now gives her the greatest greeting and enjoys the mini sausages she always brings as a treat.  Yesterday was really Muggy and I had the patio doors open and the kitchen door open, when Mum was going I shut the dogs into the living room so I could move her shopping into her car. I was at the bottom of the drive when I felt eyes watching me, Pumba was standing on the doorstep, he'd realised he could get to me if he went out of the patio doors and in through the kitchen door, my two dogs of little brain were still sitting by the living room door waiting for me to come back!
Pumba is a delight really funny,  a bit opinionated when he doesn't want to do something, he  talks back  and your in no doubt hes not happy with you! He does enjoy a cwtch and is also very vocal  the more he enjoys it!! Someone is going to be really lucky to share their sofa with Pumba he really is a special little man.

Rain Rain go away....................but actually Pumba doesn't care, he just loves being out and rain doesn't bother him one bit. We've just been for a very wet walk and Pumba enjoyed every minute. He had a lovely play with a Weimeraner and a Cocker spaniel who  didn't really realise just how fast he was !! He's now a very soggy doggy drying on the sofa next to me!

I absolutely love this boy, so does Mr Dexter! We've spent quite a lot of time with him this week as Julia has had the week off - perfect opportunity for some pack walks! Pumba has been great offlead (if a little like a bull in a China shop at Ogmore beach yesterday) and is absolutely into all the bushes and any body of water! He flushed a rabbit out of a bush the other day  :o
I think it's brilliant when he talks to you  ;D mostly a series of growls, there is definately a difference between "ohh I love this cuddle" and "okay now stop!"
He's an absolute treasure, and such a loving dog once he knows you. Someone will be soo lucky to add this fella into the family!
