Jodie is a very sweet natured little girl and very waggy-tailed . She looks like she may be something like JRT x Beagle, but is another one that came from the pound so nothing is known of her history. She does not seem to have had much in the way of training or seen a lot of the world before. She is a little shy and timid, but soon comes round when she trusts you. Her confidence is coming along nicely with some gentle introductions. It doesn't seem to take much for her to get used to things and is certainly nothing that concerns me. I just carry on my normal daily business.
She is house trained and crate trained. She is learning to walk nicely on the lead with the help of a non-pull harness. Her recall in the house and garden is fab, but more work is needed off lead on a walk, where there are far more interesting things for her to do than to come back to me . She does very little in the way of inappropriate behaviour, but when she does (taking my shoes ) a quick 'no' will stop her. She is learning to sit for her lead to be put on and to be fed. She also knows to wait back from the door and not to rush out when the door is opened.
She is both people and dog friendly. She loves to play with other dogs but is not pushy. She has not been cat tested, but does not seem interested in them when she sees one while out on a walk. For one of such a young age, she seems remarkably calm. She loves her walks, playtime and training, but is not overly excitable. She does not jump up either and is gentle, so should be OK with children - although she has not been thoroughly tested.
Jodie needs further training and is very much a work in progress, but she is a clever little girl and picks things up easily. She will make a lovely member of the family for someone prepared to put that little bit of work in with her.
Jodie has been spayed, microchipped and vaccinated.
