Update: Kizzy Has been with us for three weeks now, She seems alot more settled now and her training is constantly improving, She is house trained both day and night and sleeps through the night. I have left her at home for upto 3 hours and she hasnt got up to any mischeif whilst I've been out provided she has been exercised before leaving her, Kizzy travels very well in the car. She is still very excitable when the cat is in the same room as her, although she does'nt hurt him I feel she is too rough with him when she tries to play. this is due to her size. After speaking to the vets they think there is some of greyhound in her and possibly GSD or Collie, this girl is a proper Heinz 57 and all the more lovely for it.
Original assessment - Kizzy is a gentle young dog who I'm sure will flourish in a new home and make an excellent companion for the person who is willing to give her a chance!
We have come to the end of Kizzys first week in foster, Kizzy is living with two other adult dogs and a 14 week old puppy, She is respectful towards the two adult dogs and loves to play with our puppy. We have a cat she has met and will get close to without any problem, when the cat decides to move she gets excited and will chase him when he runs away. Kizzy is a typical youngster with lots of energy so will need plenty of stimulation in her new home.
Kizzy has quickly picked up her name and is learning commands such as sit, lay down, off and No. she is eager to please and is a very gentle dog. She is very good while out walking both on and off lead, although her recall is a little hit and miss at the moment Kizzy is friendly with everyone she meets.
Kizzy is looking for her forever home with someone who will continue with training and socialization in a consistent manner, she will need a home where someone is at home most of the time and she will only be left for short periods at first and gradually left for a little longer over time.
This lovely girl was saved from being PTS at the local pound so is looking for a second chance.
