19/12/2008 .... Foster Career Update
Mary is excellent with other dogs, she initially made a little whimper when she met the cat but is so subservient that just a cough deters her from anything
Her housetraining is coming on but being so shy, she will not tell when she needs to go out. When the door is opened and we move away, she will scuttle past. Now she is going outside, I think she quite enjoys the garden.
She has been out on the lead and will continue to improve with gentle, confident walks. She is best suited to an experienced home where she can develop at her own pace without either pressure or 'consolation'.
She is a devoted little girl who will jump on my lap...or bed, to give kisses. But not when asked!
She is now fully vaccinated and the vet feels she will be ready for spaying in a couple of weeks. Ideally she should go to her new home a couple of days after spaying in order to best bond but obviously nothing is ideal!
Mary came to us with her daughter Gertie who was only 2 days old at the time. She has settled in well in her foster home and was a great mum. She is now finishing her parenting duties and would love to find a home of her own where she can enjoy being a much loved family pet.
If you would like to offer Mary a home please take a moment to read our adoption procedures before you download our adoption form. Once completed please e-mail it to [email protected]. If you have problems downloading the form, please just email us. Adoptions will be subject to a satisfactory homecheck and a minimum donation.
