Max is a 10 month old German Shepherd Collie crossbreed who is coming into our care due to a change in his family’s circumstances.
We have assessed him in his home and this is what our volunteer says about him:
Max really is a lovely boy and he would make someone a fantastic companion.
He is in good condition, bright eyes, thick healthy coat and healthy teeth and he’s a happy, friendly boy.
He gets on well with the family’s other dog, although he is quite submissive and the other dog bullies him, a little surprising when you see how big Max is compared to the other young dog.
There are three young children in the family, the youngest being only two years old and Max is great with all of them. He loves his walks and is good if he meets other dogs, he does however pull on lead through excitement but nothing that couldn’t be sorted with training. He is just as happy sitting with his owners and having a cuddle as being out and about.
Max is fully housetrained.
Our opinion is that he would make a lovely family pet, with or without another dog.
Max has not been tested with cats.
