Holly is a lovely frienldy girl who is doing well with her socialisation and training. She is housetrained and sleeps quietly overnight until you get up in the morning - unless she is crated, which stresses her. Vet thinks she is at least 12 months old, and may well have had a litter already. She is not destructive, except of her toys. She desperately wants to please, and wags her whole body. She loves a fuss and leans against your leg. She gives kisses too. She is still very thin, but gradually putting on weight - although not as quickly as I would like. I have been leaving her alone for up to an hour and a half a day while I walk Buddy. She seems to just lie down and wait. She does not jump up. She travels well in the car.
She is terrified of many things, and so barks at them. These include brooms, mops, garden rakes, rotary washing lines, coat hangers, plastic bags.... She often gets frightened by little things, just because they move. Then she skitters across the floor. If she is worried, she just flattens to the floor, and then rolls over. She has some small scars on her nose.
Bad points - pulls on the lead, but being worked on and is now much better. I am using a Dogmatic some of the time, because she is very strong. My back is killing me from both of them pulling! She barks at SOME people, usually men, because for some unknown reason she is frightened. I am doing as much socialising with her as possible, so I am sure this will stop in time. Her and Buddy egg each other on and work each other up. She is much calmer when she is on her own, so I walk them separately. They play very noisily together. She scavenges, but this is hardly surpising given how thin she is.
She is a lovely dog, very sweet natured, affectionate and playful. I don't see any problems with her, as long as people are gentle and patient with her. I had thought seperation anxiety might have been a problem, but it seems not. She is dog friendly, but if she is homed with another dog, it will make for a much easier life if the other dog is confident, calm, sensible and well trained.
